USTA Elementary School Junior Team Tennis

PLAY TENNIS FOR YOUR SCHOOL!
This is an after school tennis league for beginners, intermediate, and advanced elementary students ages 8-12 or grades 3rd - 5th.   This is a non-age eligible league which does not advance to the state championships.  Players must be in the correct age level through September 30, 2012.  

There may be six levels of play: 

  • 10U Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced - You must be 10 years or younger.  Matches will be played on modified sized courts (60') using low compression balls.  All teams must have 3 boys and 3 girls.  Most matches will be at LakeBottom or Double Churches Tennis Courts.  
  • 12U Beginner - This is for 1.5 - 2.0 NTRP level player.  Matches will be played on standard courts using green dot balls.   All teams must have 3 boys and 3 girls.   Matches will be at various locations.
  • 12U Intermediate - This is for 2.5-3.0 NTRP level player.  Matches will be played on standard courts using green dot balls.  All teams must have 3 boys and 3 girls.   Matches will be at various locations.
  • 12U Advanced - This is for 3.5 and above NTRP level player.  Matches will be played on standard courts using standard balls.  All team must have 3 boys and 3 girls.   Matches will be at various locations.

You must have a USTA Junior membership to play USTA Jr. Team Tennis.  This membership is $20 a year.  You will receive a "Smash" magazine and be eligible to play in other USTA Team Tennis leagues or tournaments for one year.  If you are 10 years or younger, you are eligible for a one time FREE one year membership.  Use the code:JOIN2PLAY.  Click here for more details.

To play for your school you must have a team number (given to you by your team captain) and a USTA membership number.  The cost is $30 to play in the USTA Elementary School Jr. Team Tennis league.  This includes your TennisLink fee, background check fees, court fees, balls, awards, and an end of the season pizza party.

Registration will open on August 1st.  

There will be a mandatory captain's meeting at the Columbus Library on Macon Road on Thursday, August 23rd  at 4:30.
