Junior Scholarship Program
CORTA sponsors many programs for junior players of all ages and ability including Beginner & Intermediate Clinics, Flex Leagues, Camps and Junior Team Tennis. Each of these programs is designed to provide the junior player with opportunities to learn the fundamentals of tennis and advance their playing skills in a supportive and fun environment.
For advanced junior players, CORTA sponsors the Junior Tennis Academy. The Academy's focus is on helping juniors who are working on a State, Southern or National ranking and on preparing junior players for competitive tournament tennis. Sponsorship from CORTA is available to eligible junior players to attend the Junior Tennis Academy and to compete in Junior Tournaments. Assistance for the Juniors Summer Camp is also available to eligible players.
How to Request CORTA Sponsorship
Junior players requesting sponsorship for the Tennis Academy, Summer Camp Session or a Junior Tournament should complete the application for Sponsorship (form #JT1) and the Tennis Academy/Tournament Request Form (form #JT2) and return them to the Junior Program Director at the CORTA office located at Cooper Creek Park. The parent or legal guardian's most recent 1040 tax form must accompany the initial application. All applications are confidential and will be evaluated based on availability of funds in the scholarship program and need by the Junior Tennis Grant Committee. Applications and/or Request Forms should be completed and submitted to the Junior Program Director at least (three) weeks prior to the Tennis Academy session, Tournament entry date or Summer Camp session for which sponsorship is being requested.
NOTE: Each player currently on sponsorship is required to submit a Renewal Form annually (form #JT2) to the CORTA office to continue receiving sponsorship support. The amount of the grant will be determined upon receipt of the application. Approval will be based on need and successful participation in the program.
- Tournament sponsorship will be determined upon receipt of application. Eligibility is limited to players who have completed at least one session of the Junior Tennis Academy within 12 months of the tournament date. Tournament participation must be approved by a CORTA appointed representative.
- Junior Tennis Academy sponsorship is limited to 50% of the total cost of the academy session.
