Junior Beginner Clinic

These classes are offered to junior players ages 5 - 18 who would like to learn the basic fundamentals of tennis.  These classes are group lessons and juniors are divided by ages.  CORTA has a progression for all ages.

AGES 5 - 8 - T•L•C Tennis for Kids ( Try-Learn-Compete)

CORTA is committed to growing 10U tennis by tailoring equipment and courts to a child's size and age so that they have fun from the start. The childen will work on coordination, timing, ball control, grips, and tactics on 36 ft. court with foam balls and low compression balls.  In Clinic #1 TRY IT; In Clinic #2 LEARN IT; In Clinic #3 COMPETE.  The recommended progression will be trying tennis by learning the basics, learning to use the skills to play matches followed by competing  in Jr. Team Tennis matches on the 36' court.  Matches will be 30 minutes of instruction followed by 30 minutes of actual match play with supervision.  Fee includes 1 year Jr. USTA membership. ($20 value)

AGES 9 - 10 - Beginner & Intermediate Classes

The QuickStart Tennis format is about fitting tennis to kids based on age and physical size.  By modifying the court dimensions, equipment, net height and scoring system, kids will develop better technical and tactical skills.  Our 10 & Under program for beginner and intermediate player's will involve training in all aspects of the game including stroke technique, footwork, strategy and consistency.  Our goal is to prepare them for Jr. Team Tennis and match play in TAUT league in April.  Fee includes 1 year USTA Jr. membership.  At least two sessions are recommended in the beginner level to advance to the intermediate level.  The ultimate goal is to prepare the player for match play.

AGES 11 - 18 - Beginner & Intermediate Classes

This program is for players who are 11 years and up.  All play is on a standard court using the standard size tennis ball.  Emphasis is on training in all aspects of the game including stroke technique, footwork, strategy and consistency.  At least two sessions are recommended in the beginner level to advance to the intermediate level.  The ultimate goal is to prepare for middle school and high school play in the near future.  After completing at least 2 sessions each in the beginning and intermediate level, the player will be ready for Jr. Academy and Jr. Team Tennis.

Beginner clinics will enable participants to become active in other junior programs offered by CORTA. Maximum of 10 in each class.  Classes are held at Cooper Creek Tennis Center.
