JUNIORS
Junior Development
At CORTA, our Junior Development program is designed to introduce young players to tennis, build a strong technical foundation, and guide them along a clear pathway as their skills, confidence, and love for the game grow.
Our clinics serve players ages 4–17 and are organized by age and developmental stage, not just skill labels. Players are grouped to set them up for success, and progression is based on readiness, effort, and match experience—not simply age.
Whether a child is picking up a racquet for the first time or competing regularly in matches and tournaments, our goal is the same:
create confident players who enjoy tennis and are motivated to keep improving.
CORTA’s Junior Development Pathway focuses on:
- Strong fundamentals – Proper technique, footwork, and coordination taught from the beginning
- Age-appropriate learning – Drills, equipment, and expectations matched to each stage of development
- Fun and engagement – Games and activities that keep kids excited about coming to the courts
- Clear progression – Players move through groups as they are ready, with guidance from our coaching staff
- Confidence in competition – Gradual exposure to rallying, point play, and match strategy
This approach replaces the traditional “beginner / intermediate / advanced” labels with a pathway that better reflects how kids actually learn and develop in tennis.
Focus: Fundamentals • Fun • Coordination
Designed to introduce tennis at an early age, this clinic builds a strong foundation while keeping things light, fun, and engaging. Players learn forehands, backhands, serves, volleys, and basic footwork through creative drills and games that develop coordination and confidence.
Perfect for:
First-time players and young beginners just starting their tennis journey.
Focus: Rallying • Match Readiness • Confidence
This clinic helps young players transition from learning strokes to rallying and basic point play. Players work on consistency, movement, and ball control through rally-based drills and games. Some players may already be playing matches, while others are preparing for that next step.
Perfect for:
Players building consistency and getting ready for match play.
Focus: Point Play • Strategy • Smart Tennis
Designed for players who are new to matches or preparing to compete more regularly, this clinic blends technical development with frequent point play. Players learn court awareness, scoring, shot selection, and how to construct points while gaining confidence in competitive situations.
Perfect for:
Beginner and Intermediate players.
Focus: Strategy • Shot Selection • Competitive Excellence
This high-level training group is for players with extensive match and tournament experience. While technique continues to be refined, the primary emphasis is on advanced shot selection, court positioning, patterns of play, and match strategy.
Perfect for:
Tournament players and high-performance juniors.
Placement by coach recommendation
Our coaching staff works closely with players and parents to ensure proper placement. While age provides general guidance, movement between groups is based on readiness, effort, attitude, and match experience.
Players may be recommended to move up—or occasionally shift groups—to ensure they are challenged, supported, and continuing to enjoy the game.
