Special Tennis Games
CORTA hosts Special Tennis Games each year for all schools or special needs athletes that would like to participate.
Activities includes a Basic Skills group and Unified Doubles group. The Basic Skills group gives the athlete an opportunity to get points for the basic strokes of tennis – Forehands, Backhands, Volleys, Alternate Strokes, and Serves. The Unified Doubles gives the athlete an opportunity to play doubles with an “able” partner. We also have a circuit court for wheelchair athletes. For young children (ages 8 and below) we have a “fun” court set up with an obstacle course and games.
The on court skills and doubles events take place 10:00 am – 12 pm. Lunch is provided for all athletes and volunteers. Every athlete will receive a t-shirt. Many volunteers are needed to make this day a special day. If you would like more information, please contact Edna Foster at 706-317-4136 or edna@corta.org.
